Uniqueness aspects
It was the first building made shortly after the demolition of the bastion fortifications from the eighteenth century in the eastern part of the Cetate District.
The lion heads which adorn the façade symbolize wealth and power.
On the northern side of the Revoluţiei de la 1989 Boulevard, opposite the bank, one can admire the Social Security building designed by architect Ionescu (building permit September 2, 1936, built by 1939), a successful example of modern architecture, the cubist movement. Today the building houses facilities of the “Victor Babeş” University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
