Timis County Energy Management Association (AMET) was established as a legal entity under private law, without patrimonial purpose, local, autonomous and apolitical association founding members behind and under contract with the IEE funding/08/Agencies/430/and 2.529244, concluded between the Executive Agency for competitiveness and innovation of European Commission and Council of Timis County

AMET operates through its own team and through collaboration with other agencies and national and international organizations and with other bodies of the European Union for the purpose of transfer of knowledge and good practice in relation to energy management and environmental protection. 

AMET is an independent institution, a qualified body, which operates in the interest of the community and whose main objective is to participate in the sustainable development of the County Timiş and the region by promoting energy efficiency and the use of unconventional energy resources. AMET's goal is to improve the way in which energy is produced and consumed, increase energy security, accelerate economic growth, encourage the development of new jobs and increase the quality of life in a healthier environment.

AMET's goal is :
 

  1. promoting the concept of sustainable energy and energy management principles at the level of local authorities, educational institutions, businesses, health etc.;
  2. the promotion of local, regional and national community acquis of European energy policy;
  3. encouraging local market penetration of renewable technologies and energy efficiency technologies;
  4. changing the mentality and behaviour of energy users;
  5. the promotion of local, regional, national, european and international level to local interests and attracting funding for local programs and projects of economic development and industry-specific energy, social protection of the environment, as well as other areas in connection with them;
  6. promotion of existing funding mechanisms (national, FREE programs, EBRD etc.).
