The Timiş County School Inpectorate was founded according to Law nr.11 from 1968, Title IX, art.220, published in the Official Buletin, nr.62/ 13.05.1968. The Timiş County School Inpectorate functions according to authorisation nr.940/1990 with registration number 1/23022 issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Timiş County School Inpectorate covers the following attributions:

- follows the organisation and functioning of the pre-universitary network, respecting the educational policies on national level; ensures respecting legislation when organising running and implementing the educational process; ensures quality of education and respects national standards by carrying out school inspections; founds, when granted permission by the Ministry of Education, school units belonging to the public educational system; makes propositions to the Ministry of education regarding the school network in its territorial range, ensures together with local public administration authorities the education of students during obligatory education period; coordinates employment of necessary teaching staff for school units, abiding by the Statute of teaching staff; organises and directs the activity for perfectioning of teaching staff, coordinated the use, development and protection of didactic-material database in school units together with local public authorities; cordinates admittance and graduation exams in school units, as well as school contests; cordinates activities and services in preuniversitary school system organised by economic operators, fundations, associations, cults and other legal entities or individuals on their territorial range.
 

Relevant projects during the past 3 years:

Project “Educators for a knowledge society”, POSDRU/87/1.3/S/55659, for which the Timiş County School Inpectorate was partner, was aimed to develop competences of teaching staff in preuniversitary system, by implementing an inovative multiregional program based on priority areas for Ministry of Education and digital resources, with the purpose to capacitate them durably in the curricula and improve the human capital in education.

Project – Quality practice courses por better prepared students for the labour market, POSDRU/90/2.1/S/62356, for which the Timiş County School Inpectorate was partner, was aimed to create an active partnership efficiently extended on 4 counties; development of inter-institutional communication (interregional); providing the necessary frame for students to participate in parctice courses; facilitating the transition from school to active life and getting used to actual conditions existing in these units.

Project „Additional preparing for successful passing the national evaluation exam!”, POSDRU/153/1.1/S/137875, is currently being implemented. In this project the Timiş County School Inpectorate is the solicitant. The objectives of the project are to raise the chansed of successfully passing the national exams at the end of 8th grade in order to offer quality transition to higher levels of education and grant everybode key competences and professional competences. The project’s specific objectives are:

1)Development of instruments to provide access to key competences (most important competences in mother tongue, mathematics efficient learning) and counselling and career orientation services in school for at least 4200 pupils in 2 partner counties, by getting them actively involved in the elaboration, testing and implementing a pilot program in multiregional level for education „ Additional preparing for successful passing the national evaluation exam”, exams to be taken before finishind 8th grade.

2)Perfecting the competences of teachers who make the target group in order to develop the capacity for evaluation of the development degree and formation of key competences in students from secondary school using instruments TIC;

3)Optimisation of learning resources destined to the memebers of the target group, by using modern teaching methods and curricula adapted to the formationa and later career orientation needs, in order to provide access to quality education and key competences for everyone;

4)Increasing the participation of relevant social actors on multiregional level in the pilot educational program, by organising and implemnting nonformal educational activities, as well as creating interinstitutional networks with attributions in the area of imrpoving the quality of education offers.  On short term the project will have positive results regarding raising the degree of passed exams at the end of 8th grade, by a sustainable and coherent development of key competences.

Project„Development of key competences for a performant school path -Comperform”, POSDRU /153/1.1/S/ 137881- is currently being implemented. In this project the Timiş County School Inpectorate is the beneficiary. The project aims to promote extensivelz obtained results bz supporting later development of educational processes at the level of participating institutions, as well as replication for other institution by activites of direct promotion, information materials, portal, forum and project website, studies and sessions to disseminate good practices which can later be taken and imrpoved and developed on regional level. Highschools from the project will function as resource centers for other educational units on local/regional level, so that the transfer and adaptation of curricula is completed. Highschools and individuals participating in the project will be oriented and prepared for such a direction and will be able to hande adequately the needs for development and improvement of educational processes anfter the project is  completed, including their own capacitz for institutional growth.

Project “Formation of key competences for equal chances to education!”, POSDRU /153/1.1/S/137857 is currently being implemented. In this project the Timiş County School Inpectorate is partner. The general objective of the project is raising the degree of passing the bacalaureate exam for highschool students in two development regions partners in the project (South-West and West) bz offering szstematic support for development and evaluation of the formation process of key competences in order to achieve better access to higher levels of education and a better adaptability to a flexible labour market demands. The specific objectives of the project are:

1)Improving efficiency and efficacy of the formation process of key competences (most important competences in mother tongue, mathematics efficient learning) by asking 4200 highschool students to participate in in the elaboration, testing and implementing a program „Additional preparing for the bacalaureate by developing key competences” in order to successfully prepare to pass the bacalaureate exam.

2) Development of professional competences for 240 people in the national examination system, evaluation and curriculum in the preuniversitary educational system and 30 school counselors in order to implement support programs and form key competences and services for counselling and professional orientation for adequate preparing of highschool students to pass the bacalaureate exam.

3)Development of new teaching resources, destined for people from the target group by using multimedia applications, as well as modern training instruments by curricular approaches adapted to learning needs and later school orientation.

4)Increasing the participation of relevant social actors in multiregional level in the pilot educational program to support the formation process for key competences in highschool students by organising and implementing information and dissemination activities as well as creating interinstitutional networks which are abilitated to make improvements in the quality of educational offers.

The project will generate positive medium and short term effects by raising the degree of passing the bacalaureate exam together with a better counseling and career orientation for access to higher education and increased adaptability on an inclusive and competitive labour market. The project will generate positive long term effects by elaboration, testing and implementation of a unitary system like „Additional preparing for the bacalaureate by developing key competences”, in order to pass the bacalaureate exam, which will contribute to the analysis of the necessary competences and formation of competences in first stage for 4200 highschool students, after which the program can be extended to benefit other students who will prepare for the bacalaureate exam. Another positive effect of the project implementation is formation of professional competences of the staff from the national examination system, evaluation and preuniversitary system curricula (240 people) and school counselors (30 people), in order to prepare them for long-term organisation and implementation of additional training programs for passing the bacalaureate exam.
