In 1786, there was a small building on this site.

It was built-up sometime after 1812 and before 1828, probably in 1821; the current building belonged to the Orthodox Community.

1823 – the Orthodox school operated here.

1847 – is mentioned as the “New Illyrian House”, with a wine cellar and stores on the ground floor.

The current building: Salamon Brück – building permit April 16, 1910, use permit June 18, 1911.

1828 – owner Peter Zivkovich (Zsifkovits, Jivcovici ). The “La Crucea de Aur“ (“The Golden Cross”) Pharmacy was demolished.

În cadrul proiectului, pe partea românească s-a construit un centru de informare ecologică pe malul Mureșului, unde se organizează evenimente cu tematică ecologică, se pot face experimente cu tematică ecologică în laboratorul centrului. Cele două turnuri de observație de pe malul Mureșului sunt ideale pentru observarea faunei și florei locale. Centrul de informare și educație ecologică este preferat de școli care pot participa la sesiuni de informare și ore deschise în natură având ca temă natura și protecția mediului înconjurător.

Until 1716, the square’s actual area was crossed diagonally from the south-east corner to the north-west one by the inner city’s defense wall. The fortification was made of earth, protected towards the outside by a massive timber logs palisade, plastered with lime. In front of the wall, to the outside, the fortress’ main moat lay. Damaged during the 1716
siege, the wall was later repaired.

Lugoj - Historical and Cultural Crossroad

Attested since 1334, the town of Lugoj is situated in the West of Romania, at about 60 km. From Timisoara, the administrative centre of the department of Timis, on the European road 70, the future continental highway that will link the west side of the country to Bucharest.

Being situated in the plain of the Banat, it is surrounded by some hills favourable for the vineyards. The climate is temperate with Mediterranean influences. Between 1744 and 1748, the Orthodox Episcopal Church (Cathedral) is built, on the site of the old fortifications existing in the sixteenth century and demolished after 1740.

The towers existing in 1760, covered with sheet copper, were raised in the years 1791 and 1792.
